The UFC is entering brand new territory and we’re very excited about it. Holly Holm and Germaine de Randamie will face off for the first women’s featherweight title at UFC 208 in Brooklyn. Let’s take a look at how we think this fight will go down.

Holm vs. de Randamie

Holly Holm became well-known after her thrilling win over Ronda Rousey at UFC 193, but since then, we haven’t really seen much from her. She relinquished the bantamweight title to Miesha Tate a few months later at UFC 196 and then lost again against Valentina Shevchenko at UFC Fight Night last July.

At UFC Fight Night, she kept with Shevchenko for all five rounds, but Shevchenko consistently beat her to the punch. Her height and reach advantage weren’t enough as Shevchenko out-landed her in total strikes 110 to 69. Holm lost via unanimous decision.

As a three-division world boxing champion, Holm is one of the most decorated combat sport athletes of her time. Even with her recent losses, she still has a powerful skill set. She is quick on her feet and one of the greatest and most accurate strikers we’ve seen.

Three-division Muay Thai champion De Randamie is a similar yet different kind of beast. Like Holm, she’s easily one of the best female strikers in the UFC, but her Muay Thai kickboxing skills make her an even more dominant force in the Octagon. “The Iron Lady” is a force to be reckoned with - there’s a reason she is frequently referred to as the female Anderson Silva.

The matchup will display both of their unique skill sets and should make for a very interesting fight. Needless to say, we are very excited that a new division has entered the UFC and can’t wait to witness this historic event.

So, let’s get to it.

Our predictions for UFC 208:

De Randamie Wins via Knockout (2nd Round)
