UFC International Fight Week 2016 is going to be HUGE. We have six days of action-packed, fun-filled events culminating in UFC Fight Night, The Ultimate Fighter Finale and UFC 200. Take a look below at the schedule of events beginning Tuesday, July 5, and ending Sunday, July 10.
UFC® 200 Press Conference
UFC Press Conferences are always a highlight because this is where you really get to see the bad blood between fighters. Most of them get pretty heated, so naturally, it’s always enjoyable. You never know when a complete brawl might occur (i.e. Jones and Cormier at the UFC 178 Media Day). So granted, the UFC 200 Press Conference will especially be interesting because of the rivalry between Cormier and Jones.
UFC® 202 Press Conference
In my opinion, the UFC 196 Press Conference in February was one of the most entertaining we’ve seen in recent years thanks to Conor McGregor’s arrogance and Nate Diaz’s expletives. Now, the two are back at it again, and I’m sure neither the fight nor the press conference will disappoint.UFC 202 will take place August 20, 2016. You can get your VIP ticket package here>>
UFC® Fight Night
The first big event of the week, UFC Fight Night will mark dos Anjos’ second attempt at defending his 155-pound title. He has won five straight against a laundry list of top fighters including Nate Diaz, Anthony Pettis and Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone. He’s undoubtedly defined himself as the best in his weight class, so this fight presents a rather daunting task for Alvarez.
The Ultimate Fighter® Finale
The women’s strawweight champ Joanna Jedrzejczyk will take on Claudia Gadelha during The Ultimate Fighter 23 Finale. We love this matchup because of the intensity between the two fighters. Joanna and Claudia are always going at it with their words, so we can’t wait to see them go at it in the Octagon. Check out our predictions!
UFC 200 is the cherry on top of an already thrilling week in Vegas. Have you seen the main card? It’s stacked. It should be nothing short of entertaining that’s for sure. I am most excited about the rematch between Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier – their long-standing feud is a personal favorite of mine. I am also looking forward to the Jose Aldo vs. Frankie Edgar bout considering both fighters are hungry for the interim belt and have something to prove.
We can’t forget about Lesnar vs. Hunt which will be quite the show and will likely go the distance. Last, but certainly not least, it’s always exciting when a fighter defends her belt for the first time, so I am ready to see the champion Tate take on the powerful Nunes.
